Ancient buildings, domes with a tinge of brown- My favorite among all silk road cities. Most places are within 5 km radius of the city. Prominent places to visit in Bukhara include the trading domes, Lyabi Haus square, Poi Kalan complex, Ark, Tower of Bukhara, Chor Minar, Chasma Ayub-Ismail Samani mausoleum, Sitora-i-mokhi palace
Chor Minor: Four pillared small monument with bird nest on top

- Sitoi-i-Mokhi Khosa Palace- Ancient palace built by Emir of Bukhara Mir Sayyd Muhammad Alim Khan. It has peacocks freely moving around and a place with most of them are caged

- Chor Bakr memorial complex with tombs and courtyards. There is a small corner with Ostrich and some birds
- Ismail Samani mausoleum: Has intricate architecture and work on the walls

- Chasmai Ayub Mausoleum

- Ark of Bukhara: Tall fort of Bukhara with many rooms inside

- Bukhara Tower: Gives you a good view of the entire city. The lift can stop if there are power cuts for a short while. Be prepared to wait on top till it functions again
- Poi Kalon complex: The central courtyard of Bukhara with Kalyan minaret . Ulug Beg Madrasa is on the side

There are many side monuments beside Poi Kalan mosque. Some of them were only shops and had nothing to see inside. Ensure you are going not right buildings
- Trading domes: Market where you can shop colorful clothes, souvenirs

- Lyabi Haus: Vibrant square with a lake, madrassas on the sides and statue of Nasiruddin Hodja at one end

We stayed at ASL Bukhara Hotel near Lyabi Haus Square, which is one of the most vibrant and lively places in Bukhara. We had a guest cat enter in from the window to pay us a visit. Vegetarian items in breakfast were limited
