Airport transfer
We took the fixed fare taxi from airport since Careem is more expensive (30 JOD and above) getting out of airport. The taxi was for 22 JOD, but we ended up paying 25 JOD, as I did not get any change back
Getting into airport by Careem is priced on par, so you can hail one from the app
Places to visit around Amman
We did not spend much time within Amman city. We took a day to cover places around
- Madaba
- Mt Nebo
- Dead Sea
- Jerash

Both Madaba and Mt. Nebo have mosaic work, but Mt. Nebo was on a hill with wonderful drive and views of fields, dead sea and Palestine far away. We recommend going to Mt. Nebo and skipping Madaba if short of time

Dead Sea has free entry quite far, an hour away from Mt. Nebo. The drive is scenic with Wadi Mujib closer to entry point. We did not swim as there was no good place to take a bath and change clothes. The water is very salty, impossible to stay without a shower after a dip

Jerash is an hour away from Amman city with an expansive set of Roman Ruins. The oval plaza and amphitheaters at North and South end are pretty well preserved. We were quite exhausted by end of day so did not end up going to the churches
Where we stayed
We stayed at Sheraton Amman Hotel through a points redemption booking. Although we had booked for 3 people and were upgraded to a suite that could accommodate 3 people easily, we were asked for extra person charges of 60 JOD per day which was never mentioned during the booking. I did not want to pay so much, so ended up booking another room with points. Bonvoy should clearly mention them during booking to avoid last minute surprise. The choice of hotels also quite depends on this and I would have chosen Amman Marriott Hotel had I known about this before
